We had already experienced a few teasing storm clouds in Bishop…dropping a dozen marble sized raindrops before creeping up over the mountains, graciously giving us the joy of shade without having to seek cover or postpone our climbs. Not quite sure if we would continue having the same luck, the three of us decided to start our shoot early.
It couldn’t have taken more than 15 minutes before the two emerged from their car and tent looking more like they’d walked out of a magazine than spent the last two days dispersed camping.
We quickly began hiking up the mountain, zigzagging past the 25 foot boulders we had spent our morning and afternoon climbing. The hike up wasn’t particularly long, but rather steep. It’s trails wrapped in circles around sheets of granite sprinkled with sand, making for an embarrassingly slow motion fall if your traction gave way.
At the top, slightly out of breath, we were welcomed by an panoramic view of desert & mountains.

On our way down we could see the remaining part of our group leaving the campsite and disappearing into the forest of boulders below. Without hesitation Krista + Kenny threw their gear together and we trekked back up toward the group.
