Intimate, Fairytale Elopement | Zoom Wedding during COVID-19

MURRIETA, CALIFORNIA

This wedding story was already shared here, but of course I wanted to give a deeper look into the day. These two were so flexible, joyful and gracious despite the chaos of COVID-19 cancelling all of their original plans. Since the beautiful Blaire already did an interview with Bianka Farmakis, I'm including those quotes, along pieces from Bianka's article. Enjoy!

"The beginning of 2020 has been wild to say the least"

A sentence that summarizes how every couple hoping to get married has felt since the advent of coronavirus.

Blaire + Tim were forced to cancel their wedding celebration plans only three weeks before the date, after altering ceremony plans several times to satisfy social-distancing laws. While they dreamed of rescheduling their intimate wedding for the future, the closest possible date would involve them having to wait another year to get married.

"We were devastated to not be able to celebrate with everyone...we just want to be married and grow old together already!"

Finally the two opted to simply elope on their original date, April 4, in Blaire's parents backyard...via ZOOM so that friends + family self-isolating or stuck in lockdown could join them.

One of the most beautiful vendor innovations came from the musicians + performers. Since they were unable to perform live, each musician recorded the couple's selected songs to be played throughout the ceremony + first dance.

"Things were changing by the minute and we ultimately accepted that a lot of the situation was out of our control...We made the best of what we were given, and kept each other laughing through it all."

"Tim had been looking forward to not seeing me before the wedding, but that really wasn't feasible since we were getting ready in the same small house, so we decided to have a "first look" instead."

"To keep the "first look" moment, Tim got ready first and put on a blindfold while I put my dress on," she said.

After their first look and a few romantic portraits, the couple walked out into a wildflower-covered field for a private moment to exchange vows.

"When you take away all the plans and expectations, and open up to what the world can bring you, you find that love can be found and felt in all kinds of surprising ways."
